Comics For A Cure

I'm hosting the last day of "School's Out, Comics In" workshops! Tomorrow we start our "Comics For A Cure" campaign during our last of this week's daily workshops. All the artists I can find will be donating an original art card to be auctioned off to benefit the American Cancer Society. I have plenty of cards for different artists to use and I'll be collecting/hosting at Free Lunch Studios Friday 9 - 12 and again from 3 - 7 and Monday night at the Jam from 6 - 8:30! It'll be great to donate a lot of cards and it'll be awesome to showcase some artists and their skills! To find out more, see:

I'll be scanning a ton of 'em!

Marauders' Map today!

These pics don't do the originals justice! What a fun workshop we had today! We had the Harry Potter soundtracks cranked up and we were on our way! The kids had some great concepts! As soon as they left...I had to finish mine! Then it was back to the bills and some layouts. I'll be doing some pages tonight. Tomorrow is Earth Day so I plan on re-using materials for some big sketches!

Post it comics!

What a crowd we had today at Free Lunch Studios! Everyone came up with some great comics! Here's the one I did. The kids made up the story and we all got to draw our own. I used 4 post it notes, white out, red black and blue sharpies and a ball point pen.

Tomorrow we head off to Hogwarts to make the Marauders Map!

Good day yesterday...

Did not get as much done as I wanted but I did get this done for the East Windsor BMX Skateboard park group. This is not the final, but pretty close. Great news! They named me their official cake tester! How awesome will that look on my resume? Those meetings with the ladies are always great PLUS there's always yummy CAKE! Plenty of testing for me!

Saturday will be a catch up day! Stay tuned...

Boston Comic Con

Right on the heels of the Gran Bee, Carlos and his kids and I whisked off to Boston that night to prepare for the Boston Comic Con. The show was good before...this time Jim blew it out of the water! I hope it was good for you, Jim! I ended up getting a few good comics and catchin' up with some friends too!

Gran Bee Photos

Looks like fun, huh? Next time you should come along...we had a blast!

What a lucky day!

Hello! Yesterday was such a kooky started with me spilling my HUGE mug of hot chocolate all over the place. I went out for a art job interview and ended up getting TWO! Swung by Avery's soda to buy a case cause I pass by there every Monday for work and they're always closed. I figured I'd drive further down 372 and ended up at Blick's Art Supplies where I WON A FREE T Shirt! Pretty cool. After that, I figured I'd push my luck a little more and just swing by a clients building (don't know why) and I ended up having a very effective and enjoyable surprise meeting.

Oh yeah, Happy Tax day somethin' nice for yourself, you deserve it!

The Gran Bee

What a good time we had last night! The Gran Bee is a local trivia competition that is one of the Granby Education Foundation's feature events that raises scholarship money for Granby students. We would gather at the Free Lunch office two hours prior to the contest to relax, goof off and eat. We had a good amount of students, friends and both interns show to support the team. During our pre game prep, we would play a little golf and draw mustaches on all of our faces. Our team consisted of three writers from Free Lunch: Ed Gough from Spasm, Carlos DelRio from 11a of Bigger and co-founder of Free Lunch Studios and house writer Steve Kanaras. My think tank...these guys were no joke...we would be in good hands.

We would not win on this night... My team performed very well, missing a pretty hard question during the final question of the tie breaker round during their "swarm". All in all, it was great to be involved in such a great community event/cause. We saw some old friends, made some new ones and we all had a lot of fun.

All of the friends of Free Lunch are invited to the Free Lunch Studios in the Granby Commons at 5pm on Fri to meet the FLS team that's competing in the Gran Bee that evening. At 6, we'll all leave for the trivia contest together to support the team.
